Tata Steel Foundation and JCAPCPL Partner to Advance Community Development in Kolhan, Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, July 22, 2026: Tata Steel Foundation has entered into a three-year partnership with Jamshedpur Continuous Annealing & Processing Company Private Limited (JCAPCPL) to strengthen community development initiatives across the Kolhan region of Jharkhand. The partnership will focus on addressing local developmental priorities through interventions in education, skill development, tribal identity and development, sports, disability inclusion, and other community-centric programmes.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a collaborative framework through which both organisations will jointly identify and implement programmes based on the needs of communities across East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts. The partnership seeks to create sustainable and measurable social impact through a long-term development roadmap aligned with the aspirations of the region.

 

For FY 2026–27, the partnership will support a diverse portfolio of programmes, including Masti Ki Pathshala, Sabal Centre Jamshedpur, Project Samriddhi, Jyoti Scholarship, Golf Project, Sabal Gyanoday, sponsorship support for students at ITI Chandil, and initiatives in proximate communities.

 

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from JCAPCPL and Tata Steel Foundation. Representing JCAPCPL were Kapil Modi, Managing Director; Akihiko Taniguchi, Executive Director; Praveen Hegde, Chief Financial Officer; Kirit Daxini, General Manager – Operations & Maintenance; Vikas Kumar, Chief Human Resources Officer; Prashant Kumar, Company Secretary; and Tauseef Eqbal, Assistant Divisional Manager – HR & IR. Tata Steel Foundation was represented by Jiren Xavier Topno, Head – Tribal Identity; Captain Amitabh, Head – Skill Development; Dibyahas Ray, Head – Education, and other officials from the Foundation. The MoU was formally signed by Kapil Modi, Managing Director, JCAPCPL and Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer, Tata Steel Foundation.

The MoU outlines provisions for joint programme planning, periodic reviews, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure effective implementation and accountability.
