RPF of Kharagpur Division Successfully Restores Four Left-Behind Luggages to Passenger

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Kharagpur Division continues its dedicated efforts in assisting passengers and ensuring the safe recovery of left-behind belongings. Four such cases were successfully resolved on 09–10 December 2025.

Case 01 – Santragachi : A Rail Madad complaint reported a ladies’ hand bag left behind in Train No. 12704. The bag was recovered from the train and the complainant was contacted immediately. After verification, her hand bag was returned to her with proper acknowledgement.

Case 02 – Mecheda : During routine rounds at MCA station, a black bag was found left behind in Train No. 38317. The owner was informed and later visited at RPF Post Mecheda. After due verification, his bag containing ₹92,600 in cash and important documents (total value approx. ₹94,600) was handed over. The passenger expressed gratitude to the RPF.

Case 03 – Midnapore : A Rail Madad complaint reported a left-behind bag in Train No. 18450. The bag was recovered upon the train’s arrival at Midnapore station. The owner, deputed his friend to collect the bag. After verification, the items were handed over, and appreciation was conveyed to RPF.

Case 04 – Santragachi : An unclaimed bag was found in Coach C10 of the empty rake of Train No. 22896 Vande Bharat Express. It contained baby medicines, ornaments, cosmetics, a Bluetooth speaker, and other items. A corresponding Rail Madad complaint was received the next day. Ms. Smrity Paul attended the post with valid documents, and after proper verification, the bag was returned. She expressed full satisfaction with the prompt assistance.
